Bangladesh Child Protection Thematic Report (January – December 2018)
This report details the achievements, strategic direction, and financial analysis of UNICEF’s Child Protection Programme in Bangladesh during 2018. Operating under its 2017–2020 Country Programme, UNICEF collaborated with key government bodies, the private sector, and other UN agencies to address crucial child protection issues. Major efforts focused on advancing universal birth registration within 45 days of birth, preventing child marriage, strengthening child-friendly justice systems under the Children Act 2013, addressing child online safety, and providing critical child protection in emergency response to both Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar.
