This reform proposal has been articulated in the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission Report. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s manifesto for the 13th National Parliamentary Election also included directly related pledges: "Strict legal measures to end gender-based and online violence, hatred and bullying, Enforcing exemplary punishments for rape and female abuse."
Observation

The incumbent government has yet to take any visible initiative to increase the number of cyber tribunals. Any such expansion might require adequate human resources, logistical capacity, infrastructure and sustained budgetary support. To ensure timely and accessible justice for affected women, priority should be given to districts with a high incidence of online crime, particularly technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
